Hope I could help!Įdit: After working on Rainbow Road for a bit, I can confirm that "num76" IS used in the game. I looked through the soundfont I found online and no sounds matched the sound linked to the instrument "Instr bnk0 num0", so maybe stear clear of that one. I have no idea what the "Vocal" means, so I assume it's just the normal Rock Organ instrument. I wrote down while finding the instrument names exactly this "num15 RockOrganVocal". "num" number | Instrument it is linked toĦ-| String Ensemble 2ġ5-| Rock Organ Vocal 1ġ. The presets (I don't know what the presets are for) The instruments that are linked to presetsģ. The samples for the instruments and details about what note it is, where to loop once the note is held, etc.Ģ. The instruments started with the same thing, "Instr bnk0 num_", with the underscore being the only number that changed, so in case it's important I'll include the "num" number as well.įor example, "0" in the column would've been something like "Instr bnk0 num0" when I first got the soundfont.įor people who don't understand what I'm talking about, soundfonts (at least the program I use: Polyphone for Mac) have different parts to it.ġ. ![]() I can't find the soundfont anymore so I may be able to upload the copy I have somewhere if people want it. So I've named them based on the sounds the instruments were linked to compared to a soundfont for all the mario kart ds sounds I found online. When I got the soundfont, the instruments weren't named. I've never done this before, and Mario kart ds ROM hacking is still a foreign concept to me despite my day-long efforts, so currently understand how confusing it can be to get this stuff working. You said you wanted to know the instruments that MKDS uses in Rainbow Road, and through VGMTrans I was able to convert the SBNK into a soundfont and find out what instruments they were. This post was made over 2 years ago, but here's the answer for those just coming here now. Do tell me what rule I am breaking if I am. Let me just preface this by saying I don't know the rules of this site since I literally just joined to help out based on my findings, so I'm very sorry if I'm breaking rules here.
